24 March: Permanent exhibition opens on Danish architecture through history
In 2023, the Danish Architecture Center’s first permanent exhibition on Danish architecture will open. The exhibition will unfold the history of Danish architecture from the Viking Age to the present day and gives the visitor the opportunity to travel into the architecture and understand how vital it is for our democratic society. It coincides with Copenhagen being the World Capital of Architecture in 2023.

10 June: Storebæltsbroen’s 25 anniversary
In June 2023, Storebæltsbroen, one of the world’s longest suspension bridges can celebrate its 25th anniversary. One of the celebrations will be a half marathon where 10,000 runners will be running across the bridge. This kind of half-marathon was first held in 1998.

2-6 July: International Union of Architects (UIA) World Congress
The International Union of Architects World Congress aims to make architecture a central tool in achieving the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Architects from around the world will be visiting Copenhagen to attend the World Congress of Architects. The invited key note speakers include leading global voices
from the worlds of architecture, politics, sciences and business.

23 November: Noma celebrates its 20th anniversary
In November 2023, the Michelin-starred restaurant Noma can celebrate the 20-year anniversary of its opening. In 2021 the restaurant was awarded three Michelin stars, and is widely considered one of the world’s most influential restaurants and it’s had a long-lasting impact on the very diverse food scene that still flourishes in Copenhagen and more widely across Denmark.

30 Nov – 17 Dec: Handball - IHF Women’s World Championships 2023
The 2023 IHF World Women’s Handball Championships will be the 26th edition of the championship. It will be jointly hosted by Denmark, Sweden and Norway. The event is planned to take place in six cities across the three countries.
