21february

Press briefing at the International Press Centre and on-line on Wednesday 21 February 2024

The International Press Centre (IPC) in Denmark hosted the press briefing Carbon tax on farming – Denmark’s next step? on Wednesday 21 February 2024.

On 21 February an expert group commissioned by the Danish government and parties at the Danish Parliament will present its final report on a future “green tax reform”. The report will contain proposals on how a Danish tax reform could reduce emissions from Denmark’s agricultural production.

Following the presentation of the report, member of the expert group, Professor Peter Birch Sørensen, Department of Economics, University of Copenhagen, and Bjarke Møller, director of the environmental organization Green Transition Denmark will comment on the proposal.

They will also discuss the likely next steps as the report is handed to Danish politicians and its likely significance in the wider European debate on agricultural carbon emissions.
