Briefing: The Danish EU-defense opt-out + defense in the Nordics

The International Press Centre (IPC) in Denmark is delighted to invite media for a breakfast briefing on the upcoming referendum on the Danish EU-defense opt-out. The briefing takes place on Monday 23 May 2022.

At the breakfast briefing we will be joined by Kristian Søby Kristensen, Senior Researcher at Centre for Military Studies, University of Copenhagen, and Christine Nissen, Researcher at the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS).



At the briefing, the speakers will discuss the implications of the Danish EU-defense opt-out referendum (1 June 2022) as well as the changed security and defense situation in the Nordics, where Sweden and Finland have taken steps to prepare NATO-membership applications.

The presentations will be followed by a Q&A.
