Accreditation – official opening of World Capital of Architecture in Copenhagen 2023

Copenhagen is appointed UNESCO-UIA World Capital of Architecture in 2023. The official opening takes place at Copenhagen City Hall on Tuesday 17 January.

In 2023, Copenhagen is designated UNESCO-UIA World Capital of Architecture.

The City of Copenhagen will officially launch the year of architecture on Tuesday 17 January 2023 at 10 am at City Hall.

HRH The Crown Prince is patron of the World Capital of Architecture 2023 in Copenhagen and will make a speech at the ceremony.

Lord Mayor of Copenhagen, Sophie Hæstorp Andersen, Mayor of the Technical and Environmental Administration, Line Barfod, and Mayor of Culture and Leisure, Mia Nyegaard, will also participate in the official opening along with representatives from UNESCO and the UIA – the International Union of Architects.
